There are two good ways to reduce eye strain and also I’d like to share some tips to protect your vision

1. F.lux

Rather than adjusting brightness and tweaking display settings to make monitor eye friendly you can just use f.lux, is a freeware software to reduce eye strain, tweaks blue light from the monitor which causes eye fatigue and makes your monitor friendly to your eyes.
Computer Monitors are designed to look well at sunlight but the display will look like sun even at the night time which is not good for eyes.  F.lux will adapt the display according to the daylight and night time. All you have to is just follow the steps
1. Download and install F.lux
2. It will automatically detects your location after installation if doesn’t go to settings and change your location. Enter Zip code or type your city name and set the location

3. F.lux will adapt your monitor according to daylight and night time and make your display look better. Since you set your location f.lux will automatically detect the exact time of sunrise and sunset. The monitor will initially look weird but you’ll get to used
I’m using this software for around 10 days, I have problem of sleeping lately but it gives me some impressive result. I sleep better and I go to bed an hour before. You can disable f.lux if you don’t want it. It is located in the tray of icons.

2.Protect your vision (20-20-20)

Have you heard this term 20-20-20? Well it’s actually more called as a rule. For people who are working in several hours have to take a break for every 20 minutes to focus an object at 20 feet for 20 seconds (i.e.20-20-20).   Looking an object at this distance will relax your eyes and reduce fatigue and strain.
It’s hard to execute while working since people may forget to do this exercise in the middle of work stress. Even if they remember they will barely do three times for many hours. So there is a website (web app) to help you remember to break for every 20 minutes

1. Visit Protect your vision site
2. Simply click on Start PYV
3. You can go with the default 20-20-20 rule or you can create custom time of your own which is in the drop down menu
4. Select the mode and allow notifications. (Use only Google chrome or Firefox or safari browsers)
5. The notification to break will appear in a regular interval according to the time which you set

Some simple tips to protect your vision

1. Due to staring at the screen for a long time your eyes blink less than normal. So blink often more
2. Take some breaks during long hours.
3. Computer glasses specially customized to wear while using computer which reduce eye strain

I hope this two methods will help you let me know if you know any other tips through comments

Protect Your Vision has stopped working because Flash technology is not supported anymore.

The better alternative is Happy Eyes: https://happyeyes.io

Happy Eyes can be used by anyone who is
struggling with Computer Vision Syndrome, eye strain, screen fatigue, dry eyes. All those issues have become
a reality of the modern world when so many people use computers for work and look at a screen for long periods of time.
Using our web app, users can set up flexible break timers to get notifications, when it is time to take a break from the screen.
Also, during break time, they can do eye exercises, described in the app, to relax their eyes and happily continue their work.
